Bundling products on Amazon can be an effective sales technique when used properly. But historically, product bundles for sale on Amazon FBA had to be prepared before being sent into the fulfillment centers. These bundles had to be sold assets and could not be disassembled or modified in the warehouse. The limitations on Amazon bundles have been alleviated thanks to Amazon’s new Virtual Bundle tool.
The Amazon Virtual Bundler allows sellers to create bundles from products that are sent into fulfillment centers as individual SKUs. This gives sellers the freedom to create, edit, and break up bundles as they please based on performance and goals. This guide to the Amazon Virtual Bundle Tool will go over some of the benefits of virtual bundling and show you how to get started on your own bundles.
Advantages to the Amazon Virtual Bundler
No Need to Pre-Bundle
The most exciting aspect of virtual bundles is that they don’t need to be prepared in advance. Sellers that want to experiment with different bundle ideas such as pairing multiple products that go together or a hot seller with a new product don’t have to worry about tying inventory up if the bundle doesn’t perform well or running out of stock on a short run if the bundle does perform well. Since these bundles are virtual, your products can continue to be sold individually as well as in bundles that you create.
This ensures that you never lose a sale based on the bundles you are experimenting with. It also saves you the time and effort of having to pack bundles sold assets for fulfillment.
Increase Awareness of Other Products
Sellers don’t have total control over which products show up in the “Frequently Bought Together” section. But with Amazon Virtual Bundles, your available bundles will show up in this section. For example, if you sell shampoo and bundle one of your top-selling shampoos with a new conditioner, customers on your shampoo product page will see the option to “make it a bundle” with the conditioner that you have added to the virtual bundle. Whether they decide to purchase the bundle or just stick with their original purchase of the shampoo, this bundle recommendation will increase awareness of your other SKUs.
How to Create an Amazon Virtual Bundle
Amazon Virtual Bundles are currently only available to brand registered products on the Amazon.com marketplace. You can create a bundle from your Seller Central page on Amazon.
First, select up to five ASINs that you would like to add to your bundle. You will then be given the opportunity to upload up to nine images. Component product images will automatically be populated for selection, but you should also create at least one high-resolution photo that shows all of the bundled items together.
Once you have selected your product and images, you will be able to set your bundle’s title, description, and price. The price must be equal to or less than what the components of this bundle would cost if purchased separately. It’s generally a good idea to add a discount to the bundle to make it more enticing for customers to purchase all together.
Lastly, you will have the chance to set a new SKU for your bundle and add bullet points. Make sure that your bullet points are both informative and keyword-rich.
And that’s it! You can create and edit bundles from your Seller Central page as you see fit.
